MINUTES OF A PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
Held in the Village Hall, All Cannings on Wednesday 30th April 2003

PRESENT: Mr. T. Daw (in the chair)
Mrs. S. Butcher, Mr. C. Butcher, Mrs. E. Currie, Dr. J. Hollway, Mr. M. Hunt, Mrs. A. Riseley-Pritchard.

MINUTES
Minutes of the previous meeting held on the 26th March having been circulated, were confirmed as a true record and signed by the chairman.

REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES

Village School: Cycle shed now completed. Concern was raised regarding the colour of the framework. Chairman and Clerk to revisit plans to ascertain whether trees will be planted in the vicinity of the framework.

Village Community Shop: Meeting held with Tim Hill-Baldwin, Architect and Designer to discuss the proposed plans for a timber built structure. Various grant schemes being investigated along with fund raising events. Postmistress application has been accepted by the Post Office.

Village Hall: Notice board: No response received to date regarding design of notice board and possible cost sharing. Car park has been widened. New Royal Mail Post Box located at the Village Hall.

PCC: Mrs. Currie has retired from the PCC. Contact to be identified to ensure continuity of information between PCC and Parish Council. Treasurers: David Thomas and Sheila Moss. Secretary: Sue Kerr.

CORRESPONDENCE

Planning Application:
K/045288 Mr. D. Rome and Miss A. Heighway, 6. Matthews Close, All Cannings. The erection of a conservatory.

ACCOUNTS
No cheques requiring signature.

Contracts: All contracts have been accepted and signed for the current financial year for the Churchyard, Cemetery, Glebe, Green and Pound.

Parish Lengthsmen Scheme: Schedules received for 2003/2004. The next visit will be on June 10/11th the Clerk will circulate the works detail sheet for anyone to fill in for work requiring attention.

KDC: Following the result of the Uncontested Election for the Parish of All Cannings, the Declaration of Acceptance of Office and Register of Members Interests / General Notice of Registrable Interests Forms were circulated to the Councillors.

DASH 2: Devizes Hospital: Clerk to write on behalf of the Parish Council supporting the Devizes Action to Save Our Hospital Group, following the proposals to close Devizes Hospital.

Pub Lane / Drewitts Lane Path: Clerk to investigate overhanging hedge, which requires trimming.

South Farm: Clerk to make further enquiries regarding sign.

Chandlers Close: Clerk to investigate problem with a tree in Chandlers Close.

The Chairman thanked the retiring councillors Mrs. Currie and Mr. Hunt for their assistance and support during their terms of Office and presented them with a token of appreciation on behalf of the Council.
