MINUTES OF A PARISH COUNCIL MEETING
Held in the Village Hall, All Cannings on Wednesday 30th July 2003

PRESENT: Mr. T. Daw (in the chair)
Mrs. S. Butcher, Mr. C. Butcher, Mr. R. Frost, Dr. J. Hollway,
Cllr. A. Molland (WCC and KDC).

APOLOGIES: Mrs. A. Riseley-Pritchard.

REPORTS FROM COMMITTEES

Village Community Shop: Plans and estimated costs received. Cost will be approximately £100,000. Committee meeting to be arranged to discuss proposals and to confirm progress. Newsletter to be distributed in the village giving an update on progress and to outline the need for contributions towards the cost of establishing a village shop.

Village Hall: Work to commence on new toilets, changing rooms and showers.
New notice board: Clerk to contact Paul Oakley, Chairman regarding sharing the cost with ACPC.

Village School: Clerk to write to Julia Roberts congratulating the school on their recent achievements.

PCC: Correspondence received from Rev. Sally Attwater regarding the unsatisfactory level of maintenance of All Saints’ Churchyard. Clerk to discuss with Mrs. Riseley- Pritchard.

Planning Application:
K/045739 Mr. and Mrs. Martin Humbey, 2, Chandlers Close, All Cannings. Loft conversion involving replacing retractable ladder with fixed ladder. Raising gable wall on north elevation to match gables on south and east elevations with small window to north gable and velux roof light to west pitch.

Planning Permission:

CPRE: Best Kept Village Competition 2003: All Cannings placed third. Judges most impressed by the high standard of the villages in the competition.

Community First: Renewal of membership application form received.

WCC: Pewsey Vale Quiet Lanes Network – Launch, 18th July 2003 11am Wilcot Green.

The Standards Board for England: Booklet circulated re – How do I register and declare interests and register gifts and hospitality?

Kennet Care and Repair: Information received regarding Handicap Service, Garden Clearance System and the Home Safety Check.

Matthews Close : Clerk to contact Wiltshire Highways regarding white lining the exit as reports have been received regarding possible accidents.
